ROHM Semiconductor SML-D15 Automotive LEDs
ROHM Semiconductor SML-D15 Automotive LEDs series includes AEC-Q101 qualified, single-rank binning SMD LEDs based on advanced original device technology. The design of the ROHM Semiconductor SML-D15 Automotive LEDs allows the devices to provide an ultra-high brightness level of up to three times the brightness of conventional LEDs and reduce brightness variations by up to 75%. As a result, SML-D15 Automotive LEDs offer consistent, stable performance in a variety of applications.Single-Rank Binning Brightness
The SML-D15 Automotive LEDs support the development of single-rank binning products and minimize brightness variations. The SML-D15 LEDs are especially beneficial for automotive applications such as car audio and navigation systems, where it is common to specify a particular brightness rank to suppress variations. Using the SML-D15 Automotive LEDs eliminates the need to specify brightness ranks, reducing design development time. With the SML-D15 Automotive LEDs, selecting different current-control resistances for each rank is unnecessary. As a result, the inventory management required to keep multiple ranks is eliminated.
Constructed with an AIGaInP chip structure and a tinted/diffused lens, SML-D15 LEDs are available in yellow, yellow-green, orange, and red. Typical luminous intensity ratings range from 90mcd to 224mcd. The LEDs operate with a typical 20mA forward current and 2V forward voltage in a mini-mold, 1608 package across a -40 to 100°C temperature range.
