Loctite Medical Device Adhesives
LOCTITE® Henkel Medical Device Adhesives provide design advantages, improve overall product performance, speed up assembly time, and increase production efficiency and quality. The adhesives are available in viscosities ranging from water-thin liquids to thixotropic gels. They are compatible with common sterilization methods such as ethylene oxide, gamma radiation, electron beam, liquid sterilization, and limited cycles of autoclave or peroxide plasma. All LOCTITE Medical Device Adhesives are tested to ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards. The adhesives cover a variety of chemistries, providing a wide range of choices and assembly solutions.
Light cure adhesives, upon exposure to the appropriate light source, form thermoset or thermoplastic polymers with excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates with a typical cure time of 2 seconds to 30 seconds.
Epoxy adhesives provide high tensile and shear strength, thermal and chemical resistance, and minimal shrinkage when cured.
Polyurethane adhesives are designed for potting and encapsulating applications and are ideal for bonding metals, plastics, glass, and other substrates at room temperature, providing peel and shear strength.
Cyanoacrylate adhesives form slightly flexible to rigid thermoplastics in seconds at room temperature. They are particularly suited for joining dissimilar substrates in almost any combination. Cyanoacrylate accelerators and primers speed the cure of cyanoacrylates and are used to reduce fixture and cure times or to cure fillets on bond lines and exposed adhesive.
