Analog Devices Inc. LTC2949 Current & Stack Voltage Monitor IC

Analog Devices Inc. LTC2949 Current and Stack Voltage Monitor IC is designed to measure current, voltage, temperature, charge, and energy for electrical and hybrid vehicles and other isolated current sense applications. The LTC2949 infers charge and energy flowing in and out of a battery pack by simultaneously monitoring the voltage drop over up to two sense resistors and the battery pack voltage. Low offset ΔΣ Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) ensure accurate voltage and current measurement with insignificant power loss. Continuous integration of current and power ensures lossless tracking of charge and energy delivered or received by the battery pack.

The LTC2949 includes a built-in serial interface, which can be configured to support isolated isoSPI™ communication to the host or as an SPI interface. This device also supports synchronous measurements with other cell monitors, such as the LTC681x Multi-Cell Battery Monitor ICs.

The LTC2949 features 12 internally buffered high impedance inputs (V1 to V12) for measuring voltages from external sensors or resistor dividers, allowing measurement of temperatures, HV-Link voltages, chassis isolation, and supervised contactor states. This device has up to five programmable digital outputs set to ground, supply, or toggle at 400kHz. Programmable threshold and tracking registers reduce digital traffic to the host.

The Analog Devices LTC2949 Current and Voltage Monitor IC is available in a 48-lead Low Profile Quad Flat Pack (LQFP) package and is AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.
